Tungsten carbide round rod is a composite material produced by powder metallurgy, consisting of refractory metal compounds (hard phases) and bonding metals (bonding phases). Tungsten carbide is a different local term.

[1] Tungsten carbide(WC) is an inorganic compound containing equal amounts of tungsten and carbon atoms. In its most basic form, it is a subtle gray powder, but it can be used in industrial machinery, tools, abrasives, and forms the shape used.

The carbon content of Tungsten carbide is three times that of steel, and its crystal structure is even denser than that of steel and titanium. Its hardness is comparable to diamond and can only be polished into hard alloy using cubic boron nitride abrasive for polishing. Hard alloy rods are a new technology and material. Mainly used in the manufacturing of metal cutting tools, as well as in the production of hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance products required for wood and plastics. The main characteristics of hard alloy rods are stable mechanical properties, easy welding, high wear resistance, and high impact resistance. Hard alloy rods are mainly suitable for drill bits, end mills, and cutters. It can also be used for cutting, stamping, and measuring tools. It is used in the papermaking, packaging, printing, and non-ferrous metal processing industries.

In addition, it is also widely used for processing high-speed steel cutting tools, hard alloy milling cutters, hard alloy cutting tools, NAS cutting tools, aviation tools, hard alloy drill bits, milling core drill bits, high-speed steel, tapered milling cutters, metric milling cutters, micro end mills, hinge pilots, electronic cutting tools, step drills, metal cutting saws, double guarantee gold drills, gun barrels, angle milling cutters, hard alloy rotary files, hard alloy cutting tools, etc.

Usage: YG6, YG8, and YG6X are more wear-resistant than MK6. They can be used for hard wood, processing aluminum alloy profiles, brass rods, and cast iron. YG10 is wear-resistant and resistant to impact, and is used for processing hard wood, soft wood, black metals, and non-ferrous metals. One, two or three holes, 30 degree or 40 degree spiral straight or twisted, or unperforated solids, are used as manufacturing standards. The sub micron grain level YG10X end mills, drill bits, and hard alloy rods are mainly used for precision cutting of non-ferrous metals and sub micron particle level YG6X cutting, as well as glass fiber reinforced plastics, titanium alloys, and ultra-hard steel fine grain level YG8X. Hard alloy rods can not only be used for cutting and drilling tools (such as micrometers, twist drills, and vertical mining tool indicators), but also as input needles, various parts and structural materials worn by rollers. In addition, it can be widely applied in many fields, such as mechanical, chemical, petroleum, metallurgy, electronics, and defense industries.

Process flow editing: Hard alloy rods belong to hard alloy cutting tools, which are suitable for different rough grinding parameters, cutting materials, and non-metallic materials. Meanwhile, hard alloy rods can also be applied to traditional automatic, semi-automatic lathes, and so on. The main process flow includes powder making → formulation according to usage requirements → wet grinding → mixing → crushing → drying → sieving → adding forming agent → re drying → sieving to obtain the mixture → granulation → pressing → forming → low-pressure sintering → forming (blank) → outer circle grinding and precision grinding (blank does not have this process) → size inspection → packaging → storage.

Tungsten carbide

Drillstar Carbide advantages:

1. Using high-quality ultrafine tungsten carbide and imported cobalt powder as raw materials.

2. Standardized production is carried out using low-pressure sintering preparation technology.

3. Has high strength and hardness.

4. It has excellent red hardness, good wear resistance, high elastic modulus, high bending strength, good chemical stability (acid, alkali, high-temperature oxidation resistance), good impact toughness, low coefficient of expansion, and similar thermal conductivity and conductivity to iron and its alloys.

5. Unique new process: vacuum high-temperature high-pressure sintering. The product adopts pressure sintering in the final stage, greatly reducing porosity, improving density, and greatly improving the mechanical properties of the product.

6. Product features: Multiple material grades, suitable for different usage needs; Complete specifications and precise blank dimensions (reducing processing volume and improving production efficiency).

7. Thoughtful service and fast response: ordering, production, and delivery are fast and on-time (5-7 days)
